Ecuador San Francisco Del Tambo

ToffeePearPink Starburst
$22.00

This coffee shines with a clean, sweet caramel-like body that reminds us of a toffee confection. The cup also shares a pleasant acidity of green pear and mouthfeel of pink Starburst candy, all translating into a rich aftertaste where toffee dominants. We were able to taste brown sugar, pumpkin, and strawberry soda in the cup too while it was cooling down.

About:

We contracted 5 green bags of the washed Ecuador through Red Fox Coffee Merchants, as Ecuador has been part of their portfolio for a long time. While there’s a wealth of great coffee to be had for a fraction of the price in neighboring Colombia or Peru, this coffee stands above as a testament to the dedicated Ecuadorian producer, Juan Sebastian Colombia, and inspiring farm San Francisco del Tambo.

On top of excellent coffees and the producers who grow them, Ecuador offers another singular value proposition: national labor laws that require all full-time workers receive a fair minimum wage, health care, and paid time off. While the purchasing models look different from our work in Peru, Colombia, or Mexico, Ecuador offers a rare opportunity to present customers with a model for what it looks like to purchase coffee from workers whose nationally-guaranteed rights are similar to those in the US, which is a beautiful cause to support while sipping on a delicious cup of coffee. Cheers!
