Since the beginning, we have always strived to stay true to our beginnings: sourcing the best possible product, using only the best equipment; and most importantly, finding team members that share the Press passion for amazing coffee. When sourcing, we often struggle to find coffee that meets our standards so we decided to purchase the farm that produces the very best.
Our new farm is situated in the forested highlands of Volcan Valley in Western Panama. This region is renowned for its unique terroir and high elevations that produce some of the most distinctive coffees in the world.
Named after the Barú volcano, the iconic peak central to Panama's best specialty coffee lands. The farm benefits from superior soils resulting from the last seven volcanic eruptions on the western side of the Barú volcano. The estate spans a 70-hectare plain at an elevation ranging from 1,800 to 2,300 meters above sea level. This unique geography offers fertile soils and a microclimate ideal for cultivating exceptional coffee beans. With panoramic views of Barú, our farm exemplifies the natural beauty and optimal conditions for coffee cultivation in Panama.
We are excited to introduce a selection of coffees from our farm that will be available year-round, complementing our regular lineup of single origin offerings. These coffees will be featured on drip at all PRESS Coffee locations, with retail bags available both in-store and online, including online subscriptions.
Alongside our year round offerings, we’re introducing an exclusive addition to our Allocation program, which will feature our most exceptional limited-edition coffees, available quarterly. These seasonal offerings allow us to showcase the exceptional quality and distinct characteristics of our coffees, cultivated in the rich volcanic soils and ideal microclimates of the region.
Just like fine wine, the flavor of each coffee harvest is influenced by a myriad of external factors. Each batch will have a distinct flavor profile shaped by soil composition, weather patterns, and other natural variables – these variables guarantee that no two harvests are alike.
